High Tech Communications Green Policy

Although High Tech is not a multinational corporation, we believe that everyone has a responsibility to the natural world.  That’s why we’re also committed to finding ways to protect the environment and minimizing our own carbon footprint.

All of our installed solutions include Remote Maintenance access which allows us to complete many service requests without dispatching a tech to site.  Our Fleet of vehicles has recently been upgraded to vehicles suitable for our service technicians that have smaller engines and are more fuel efficient.

Our technicians are equipped PDA’s (Blackberrys) enabling remote dispatch and reducing, if not eliminating paper service order forms.

High Tech implemented the ability to invoice via e-mail (June 1, 2009) upon approval from our customers. Saving everyone administration time, office supplies and postage expenses.   Email is also leveraged to distribute newsletters, promotions and other marketing materials.

Internally our policy to reduce, reuse and recycle has significantly influenced our waste management effort.  Packaging materials are routinely reused; Lighting has been upgraded; Shredded and waste papers are regularly collected for recycling, along with Blue Box materials.

Efforts to refurbish and redistribute previously owned telecommunications equipment have expanded, with donations to worthy organizations.  We are also currently exploring the best way to partner with the Electronics Recycling Association (http://www.era.ca/donations/recycling) to reduce waste.
